An incredible journey worth sharing.....

Just before we headed to the hospital; not too bad! Swelling was getting to me, but I had no idea that could get worse. Otherwise I would have said "Look how awesome I look". We were off early in the morning hours (2:30 am), and anxious to say the least. To meet this new little miracle and hold him. Finally!

The labor was long, and went a little different than we had planned or anticipated.

Todd was freezing and I was burning up. That is a change. My blood pressure was on the rise and when the Dr. came in for the fourth time, he was recommending an emergency c-section. We just wanted E to be safe. Everything from there went really fast and is kind of a blur to me. I was a little out of sorts at this point. Twenty minutes at the most, and all went well. Dad had him in his arms and tears in his eyes counting fingers and toes while whispering how perfect he was in my ear.

He is so worth the wait!!! And perfect I might add.

We spent the rest of the week in the hospital and dad had to head back to work. Baby was doing great and I was intoxicated. He is a perfect baby. Eats good, sleeps even better and only fusses a little when he wants to be fed. We were headed home Saturday night and big brother was more than delighted to finally get to hold him.

Now that is one happy big brother.

We spent two nights at home and I was not doing well. My swelling got worse and I started to get a headache that would not go away. My blood pressure was sky high. I was having a hard time breathing and just thought it was a reaction to my pain medication. When I called the Dr. Monday morning they told me to go to the emergency room for an x-ray. That ended in an all day visit in the emergency room and landed me in the cardiac unit for three more days, but without my new baby. :( That was a hard stay for me. Thank goodness grandma and grandpa were here to take over. My mom was in heaven with full custody of our little angel.

I was able to come home, with orders to rest and feed the baby, then rest some more.

How sweet is he?

When we were faced with the thought of me not being here to enjoy this miracle, we were twice as thankful for all the prayers on our behalf, and especially to our Father in Heaven for sending him our way in the first place. Friends and neighbors that have stepped in to help and pray for us has made the world of difference. I can't imagine loosing the chance to raise this precious sweet little miracle. He has changed our life for the better.

Two weeks and time is flying by!

I know you are all shocked to see this update, but many are requesting pregnancy pictures so here they are. Yes painful at times, but something worth waiting for. These were taken prior to the recent Halloween costume I was preparing for.

It's a toss up, but I am a good candidate for both.

I know you will ask "How did this happen"

It seems odd to go from a Halloween post to this, but Miracles like this don't happen every day so I will catch up the last six months later. For now we just wanted to share what feels like Christmas a thousand times over. To say it nicely it has been quite a year. I have been suspecting my thyroid to be going bad since it happened to my two older sisters and I was certain to be next. I have not been well for some time and was determined that the doctor needed to order me a blood test so I could get it under control ASAP. I of course have not been in for some time so they would not order the test and insisted that I come in. I made my appointment and was not patient in waiting the month before I could get in so I continued to call. And call again. And again. Until they moved me up. I went in on my birthday of all days. I explained my symptoms to the Dr. and he said lets just look and see. He is familiar with all the symptoms. He turned on the sonogram machine and said
"There's baby!"

Of course knowing this was not really in the realm of possibilities, I cried. I watched in amazement to see the heart beating. Emotions were overwhelming as you can only imagine. It has felt like Christmas ever since, and every morning just a dream. We are due October 20th! It is really hard to find words to describe although the thoughts are running constant. Our Heavenly Father has a plan and He is in charge. Most people have asked "How did this happen?" I really think they wanted to know "How did this all the sudden become possible after so many years?" This is the golden question.

I know it has been forever, but I have good excuses. Besides I was getting really tired of the birthday song. So here is our Halloween celebration and yes we did do fun things even though we didn't trick-or-treat this year. We had other plans (coming soon). We had a spooky dinner and enjoyed things like fried intestines, bloody witch fingers, poisonous punch, Frankenstein vomit and other really (random) but fun things to name for dinner. Out of the ordinary is so much fun.

Happy Happy Birthday Toddy Dear!

Wanted to post a special note to Todd on his birthday. You are "29" right? I just know that I am younger than you. We love you sooooooooooo much and everything you do for us. You have worked very hard this year and are doing so well in that big bird. Your hard work and efforts are paying off and your dedication shows. Big hugs from Wyatt. He is saving a special time for a birthday wrestling match. He loves you and follows your every move. We love you birthday boy.

Happy Birthday to all the "Valentine Specials"

Okay, so if you don't like the pictures I have I think we need to work on taking more. It's the best I have on file.

1. Sink - All the left overs and breakfast.

2. Bathroom - It's still clean, Wyatt is not home just yet.

3. Laundry - So it's the one thing I didn't do this weekend. It's on special request only.
4. Refrigerator - It looks a mess, but at least it is working. Last week it was not. I love refrigeration. Poor pioneers. I wouldn't make it without an ice maker.

5. Closet - Nothing good in here!

6. Shoes worn the most - The toes are horrible and taking a picture at that angle should not be allowed. It makes my legs really attractive don't you think.
7. Spouse - Sad as it is, this is the most contact I have with my spouse at the moment.
Child - Just walked in the door from school, with shoes in hand (and on head) why wear them on your feet? It's much harder to wear your socks out if you do.
9. Favorite room - These are my newly restored cabinets that my husband said should never enter the house because they are garbage. I think they turned out nice, and they are very functional.
9. Dream Vacation - Fiji, What would be better than blue water, white sand and no one else around!
10. Me at the moment - Yes its me. I went dark. Taking votes 'tis the season'. (stay dark?)
